Ukraine, Russia and Europe: What's Happening and What It All Means

Description: This moderated panel will discuss the ongoing situation in Ukraine, with the respect to the toll taken on the country itself and neighboring countries, Russia's military strategy and shifting objectives, as well as the implications for the future of the international order.

The panel will feature: Rob Darst, an Associate Professor in the Political Science Department at UMass Dartmouth who has expertise on nuclear issues in the former Soviet Union; David Ost, a Professor in the Political Science Department at Hobart and William Smith College, who has expertise in Polish Politics and the wider region; Brian Glyn Williams, a Professor in the History Department at UMass Dartmouth, who has expertise in Russian military strategy; and Valerii Zhurylo, a CIS major at UMass Dartmouth and Ukrainian national. Peter Sandby-Thomas, Full-Time Lecturer in Political Science, will moderate the panel discussion. The panel will take place virtually on Zoom.
