Eyes in the Sky and Privacy Concerns on the Ground: A Discussion of the Domestic Use of Drones with Professor Hillary Farber

Description: Associate Professor Hillary B. Farber,is a law professor at the University of Massachusetts School of Law. She has presented nationally and internationally on the domestic use of unmanned aircraft systems (AKA drones). Her recent article on the subject, Eyes in the Sky: Constitutional and Regulatory Approaches to Domestic Drone Deployment is the lead article in the Fall 2014 issue of the Syracuse Law Review. Her focus is on government use of unmanned aerial surveillance and the limits the Fourth Amendment and legislative action can place on this emerging technology. She is a contributing author to the ABA forthcoming publication on Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Professor Farber is a member of the Advisory Board of the Boston Chapter of the American Constitution Society, Suffolk Lawyers for Justice, and the National Lawyers Guild.
