Please join us to discuss ideas for building student critical thinking skills through course activities, which encourage its application in practical, “real-world” ways by incorporating current events and research-based case studies into lectures, discussions, and assignments. Focusing on architecture as a springboard for discussing larger socioeconomic issues in U.S. post-industrial cities, Prof. Karimi shows how her students pursue archival research at local institutions and develop conceptual design proposals for the renewal of historically-rich, but often neglected, post-industrial landscapes.
