School for Marine Science and Technology
838 S. Rodney French Boulevard
New Bedford, Massachusetts 02744

This 60,000 square foot facility, built in partnership with the state Division of Marine Fisheries, more than doubles UMass Dartmouth’s marine science presence in New Bedford, the nation’s top fishing port and an emerging center of offshore wind energy development. Due to open in 2017, this facility will add to an existing 35,000 square foot marine science laboratory to create a two-building site that will accommodate 150 marine scientists, students, and support staff.

The School for Marine Science and Technology is recognized for excellence and impact in the areas of sustainable fisheries, coastal preservation, ocean observation and climate change.
