The Supreme Court and the Coming Liberal Majority
When: Wednesday, October 26, 2016
5:10 PM - 6:25 PM
Where: > See description for location
Description: The U.S. Supreme Court might soon have a majority of ideologically liberal Justices for the first time in more than 45 years. What will they do? Steven B. Lichtman, political science professor at Shippensburg University, hypothesizes an ambitious reform agenda--campaign finance, voter ID, gerry-mandering--on a scale akin to "the Rehnquist Revolution," or the Warren Court on race and criminal justice. Lecture by Professor Steven B. Lichtman. Panel discussion with constitutional law professors Dwight Duncan and Frances Rudko. Law School Moot Court Room. Space is limited; please advise if a group plans to attend. Questions/comments contact Law Prof. Peltz-Steele, rpeltzsteele@umassd.edu.
