QPR Suicide Prevention Training

When: Wednesday, September 20, 2017
12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Description: Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and intervene effectively. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer, three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Workshops are free and open to UMass Dartmouth students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni. If you are in crisis, please call The National Suicide Prevention Helpline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or text Hello to 741-741, the Crisis Text Line. Both services are available 24/7.
