TIME:
3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION:
Textile Building, Room 101E
TOPIC:
Feasibility Study for Insourcing the Manufacturing of MIL-C-882 Specification Pads
ABSTRACT:
Preformed laminated fabric pads are exceptionally suited for the reduction of impact shock, vibration, and structure-borne noise. They are manufactured to the MIL-C-882 military specification. There is currently only one known manufacturer of this material. This feasibility study will analyze the technical requirements, production capacity, facility considerations, economic impact, and risks associated with developing a machine to produce this product in-house (for a particular company).
ADVISOR:
-Dr. Wenzhen Huang, Professor
Mechanical Engineering Department, UMass Dartmouth
COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
-Dr. Hamed Samandari, Full Time Lecturer
Mechanical Engineering Department, UMass Dartmouth
-Dr. Caiwei Shen, Assistant Professor
Mechanical Engineering Department, UMass Dartmouth
Open to the public. All MNE students are encouraged to attend.
