Workshop: Voice Projection Techniques for Teaching

When: Tuesday, March 10, 2015
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM
Where: Claire T. Carney Library, Room 426
Description: Voice Projection Techniques for Teaching (Tian Zhou, Music)

Have you ever observed an instructor straining his or her voice to deliver a lecture to listeners in the back row of a large lecture hall? Have you heard teachers continually raising their voices to speak over small group discussions in their classes? Understanding basic voice and projection techniques is essential for delivering information to students as well as protecting your vocal health. Dr. Zhou, UMD choral director and former baritone with the Washington Opera will provide instruction in breathing and vocal delivery techniques that will assist faculty members with filling the space of the most cavernous classroom while preserving one’s vocal chords.

Lunch will be served; if you wish to attend, please register through the Events calendar on UMD website.
