Description: Topic: Human Disease Detection and Identification by Electronic Nose Technology

Speaker: Dr. Liwei Chen, Associate Professor, Zhengzhou University, China

Location: Lester W. Cory Conference Room, Science & Engineering Building (Group II), Room 213A

Abstract:
Exhaled breath contains thousands of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that may be used as non-invasive indicators of many diseases. Detection methods based on VOCs have been proposed to distinguish among different human diseases. My research team has focused on medical applications of exhaled breath analysis by the E-nose technology. In this talk, I will share our research on a novel E-nose system including colorimetric sensor arrays and a matching principal component analysis algorithm.
