Abstract: Opportunities in Biotechnology abound and choosing the one that is right for you can be daunting. Leading the growth curve is Industrial Biotechnology (sometimes called White Biotech or Microbial Biotech), wherein the catalytic diversity generated through billions of years of evolution is leveraged to produce value-added molecules for use in a myriad of fields. The presentation will provide an overview of my experiences in both academia and industry and the lessons learned, an introduction to Industrial Biotechnology (White Biotech) as well as an overview of Greenlight Biosciences and examples of what life in industry can look like.
