Italian Studies at UMass Dartmouth invites you all to attend our Seminar Series, with Professor Emeritus Memory Holloway (Dept. of Art Education, Art History & Media Studies) speaking on "Taste, Honor, and Tradition in the film Il Mafioso". Italians never stop talking about food. This paper examines food on film, and the experiences of a Sicilian who travels to his homeland with his Milanese wife in the film Il mafioso (1962). She is surprised by the strange behavior of his family and even more by what they eat.
