When: Tuesday, April 21, 2020
4:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Where: Woodland Commons, UMass Dartmouth Campus 285 Old Westport Road, Dartmouth, MA 02747

Description: The Foreign Literature and Languages Department will be presenting Arts Night 2020 on Tuesday, April 21st from 4-6:30pm in Woodland Commons. This year's theme is environmental justice, the idea that all people regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, and class have the right to a healthy and clean world. We hope to shine light on the communities of color, indigenous, rural, or impoverished groups or countries that often face our most urgent climate disasters through student performances using world languages or representing these world cultures.

We are calling all singers, dancers, poets, spoken-word artists, multimedia/video presenters, and creators to perform or present pieces addressing environmental justice.

Interested in performing? Contact Professor Marta del Pozo Ortea (mdelpozoortea@umassd.edu) or Hailey Duquette (hduquette@umassd.edu) to fill out a short proposal form telling us a bit about what you plan to present. You MUST submit your proposal to perform by Friday, March 6th, 2020 to be considered! Be sure to 'like' our department Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/flldept) for all updates and details regarding the event!
