  • Online Teaching and Learning Strategies Training

  • Description: In this training course, we will introduce you to current research and best practices for both online and blended teaching as well as showcase examples of successful teaching strategies for both methodologies. Throughout the training you will work both independently and collaboratively with your peers to gain valuable online course transition experience and develop strategies in online teaching and learning. As a training participant, you will learn both pedagogical aspects of teaching online as well as how to use and incorporate many of the tools available in the myCourses Learning Management System used at UMD. The ultimate goal of the training is to have you begin planning, organizing and building the course you eventually plan to teach. In addition, this training will introduce you to tools that will teach you how to self-assess course site design to ensure student ease of access to course content and to facilitate more streamlined student learning and retention. Please note: This training is offered entirely online and will be conducted over a four week time frame.

  • Description: This seminar is designed to help people consider setting retirement savings goals in light of the current retirement environment. The impact of a shrinking workforce, inflation, and reduced social security benefits are explained to encourage a more proactive role from individuals in regards to their retirement savings.   • Description: This is an action packed 30 minutes fitness regime. Participants will be exposed to a proper warm-up using agility ladders and dynamic flexibility movements (5-10 mins.), then ramp up with circuit training (10-15 mins.) followed by core work and a cool down stretch (5 mins.). Rest and water breaks can be taken as needed and all movements used can be modified to the user’s abilities. Led by: Greg Homol, Our Fitness Director Located: Fitness Center, 2nd Floor Aerobics Room
