MCC Creative Writing and History Workshop

- Description: The Multiliteracy & Communication Center will be hosting a series of weekly creative writing workshops focusing on history. Writers will utilize primary sources to create and explore projects of their choice such as short stories, living history performances, video game plots, and more.
Starting February 5th, and continuing weekly throughout the semester, stop by the MCC on Wednesdays 10-10:50 a.m. to work on a fun project and enjoy a snack with fellow creators!

No Fascist USA! The John Brown Anti-Klan Committee and Lessons for Today's Movements

- Description: Come to hear stories of a network of anti-racist activists and their efforts to combat racism and state repression throughout the 1980s. Discuss what tactical lessons their activism offer those dedicated to fighting white supremacy today. This event is a book presentation with a discussion.

Online Teaching and Learning Strategies

- Description: Online Teaching and Learning Strategies is a fully online four-week course that introduces faculty to the current research and best practices for online teaching and learning. Faculty will work independently, collaboratively with peers from various disciplines across campus, and with Instructional Designers to design and build one unit of online instruction in a myCourses site. Any faculty interested in learning more about teaching online is encouraged to participate in the course.

Introduction to Qualtrics - via Zoom
- Location: Claire T. Carney Library, Room 135

- Description: UMass Dartmouth has selected Qualtrics as our Internet survey tool. All Faculty and Staff have access to create and publish their own surveys. Students may also use Qualtrics under the direction of a Faculty or Staff member. This workshop covers the authoring and administration of surveys, as well as data collection. Question types are covered in detail, and survey logic is also included. No previous survey experience is necessary.
Note that access to Qualtrics is managed by the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. Please contact Jonathan Bonilla at JBonilla1@umassd.edu at least three business days prior to this workshop to request access. Students must have a Faculty or Staff advisor request access on their behalf.
