Word Mail Merge

- Description: This workshop covers the use of Microsoft Word’s mail merge tools. Participants create a letter and merge it with names and addresses from a separate data document. Conditional if-then statements are covered, as well as using data from external sources such as Peoplesoft. Familiarity with the basic text-editing features of Word is required.

Sexual Violence on College Campuses: Listening to and Learning From Student Activists

- Description: Stephanie Gilmore is an award-winning educator, writer, editor, and activist. She holds a Ph.D. in comparative women's history from The Ohio State University. After spending eight years in the academic world, she left and decided to dedicate her passion and talent to ending sexual violence on college and university campuses.
She has spoken at dozens of college campuses around the United States, and has been cited in numerous interviews and stories on sexual violence, academia, and how student activists are leading a new social movement to upend rape culture.

CVPA, the College of Visual and Performing Arts at UMass Dartmouth, is pleased to present the fourth annual "Together: Junior Design Exhibition" on display through April 4, 2016. The reception on Thursday, March 10, (4-6 pm) will feature the artist talk "Connected, The Blending of Boundaries" at 5 pm. Speakers: Rea Bethel (Art History/Marketing), James Carpenter (Graphic Design), Emily Moreau (Illustration), Frankie Romeo (Digital Media), and Lizzy Santoro (Photography).
The exhibition features recent work from students, including 2D and 3D Animation, Editorial Illustration, Studio Photography, Large Format Photography, Digital Photography, Animated Typography, Information Graphics, Posters, and more.

Global Connectivity in the Corporatized Public University

Workshop: Embedding Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Higher Education Coursework
- Location: OFD Lounge, Library 220

- Description: By Sheila MacCrine, Christine Panarese-Balkus
This workshop is designed to promote engaged, interactive adult learning in how to embed the accessibility into college level curriculum or course instruction using the concepts of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Participants will learn how UDL is currently being practiced in the higher education setting, review samples of embedded UDL practices in higher education and have the opportunity to voluntarily collaborate in UDL course design as a follow-up breakout sessions. This “after workshop” collaborative process will to put into action the interdisciplinary learning as faculty learn how technology and other presentation, processing and demonstrating strategies can transform the college or university classroom into an accessible learning campus that fills the learning gaps of some students while also meeting the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
