Lightning Session: Best Practice Reward

Prof. Sarah Cosgrove will discuss a "flipped blended" format in a large section of Principles of Microeconomics. Students were required to view, study and take notes on pre-recorded video lectures prior to attending one 75-minute face-to-face session per week, which was a problem-solving workshop on the material covered in the videos.
Prof. John Buck will describe his "muddy point" videos supplementing classroom instruction in his required junior course. Students provide written responses to the question "What was the most confusing part of today's class?" at the end of each class meeting. The online videos present additional examples or instruction to address the most commonly reported confusions. Most students' end of semester evaluations indicated that they watched most these videos and found them helpful.
