  • Description: This online workshop focuses on blended learning strategies and developing faculty abilities to successfully integrate online components of a course with face-to-face components Faculty are invited to engage in a 10 day asynchronous workshop designed to introduce blended learning techniques and facilitate faculty planning of a blended course. The workshop includes a focus on assessment to help faculty not only assess student learning outcomes, but also to assess how well the “blend” works to facilitate student learning.

Jurors: Jean-Francois Allaux, Associate Professor, UMass Dartmouth; Viera Levitt, Gallery Director, UMass Dartmouth; and Robert P. Stack, co-owner and curator, Yellow Peril Gallery, Providence, RI The gallery has a wall available for postings of materials measuring up to 8.5x11 inches. This is open to anyone who would like to contribute a work of art, a poem, and/or a letter or postcard sent from a real or imagined trip to Paris.   • Description: A) Employment Law Overview: Edward Mitnick, Esq. Executive Director at Just Training Solutions, LLC, & Deb Majewski, Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion • Legally protected classes under federal, state and local laws, as well as under the UMass Dartmouth policies • Types of employment decisions covered by the laws • Forms of discrimination • Hiring dos and don’ts under the law • Handling grievances – and avoiding them B) Workplace Harassment • What constitutes harassment, including quid pro quo and hostile work environment • Understand what constitutes retaliation. • Procedures for reporting complaints of harassment. C) Additional responsibilities placed on managers and supervisors • Understand when a manager or supervisor is “On Notice” and the obligation to take “Prompt, Effective Action.” • Develop a work script for responding to complaints of harassment or retaliation, including how to handle requests for confidentiality • Create a list of proactive measures to prevent harassment D) Title IX Location: LIB 314

  • Description: The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is free and confidential service, provided by your employer that offers help with personal and work-related issues. Professionally trained consultants are available to help with family problems, marital concerns, financial and legal matters, stress, depression, and other issues affecting your personal or work life.
