, 285 Old Westport Road N. Dartmouth, MA
- Contact: Office of Faculty Development
- Description: The faculty writing group offers support, guidance and help with all aspects of academic publishing endeavors. The group works with library services in providing data analysis and model building input. We also have a dedicated copy editor intern helping with language and style in the final stages of manuscript preparation. With these services the writing group functions as a research support hub with its own writing lab in an effort to help UMass D. faculty in their publication quests.
Join us, contribute, collaborate, network, and get help and encouragement in the publication rat race. Our meetings are themed to help facilitate focused discussions in addition to handling individual manuscript preparations. The schedule for the Fall semester of 2016 is below
Sept. 14th, 12-1pm. Theme - Submission Strategies for Passing the "desk reject" hurdle. We'll discuss when in the calendar year it is most prudent to submit manuscripts, how to pitch the project as a good fit for the journal, and share examples of our experiences.
