  • Description: Yoga is a great way to calm the mind and get in a great workout. Come and try a Hatha Yoga class with a Core Strength Vinyasa perspective. This perspective on Hatha Yoga (created by Sadie Nardini) focuses on building poses from the ground up starting with a strong foundation, activating inner core muscles for better spinal support, transitioning through poses using natural wave motions, and releasing tension in areas which tend to be overworked in a practice.   • Description: In this training course, we will introduce you to current research and best practices for both online and blended teaching as well as showcase examples of successful teaching strategies for both methodologies. Throughout the training you will work both independently and collaboratively with your peers to gain valuable online course transition experience and develop strategies in online teaching and learning. As a training participant, you will learn both pedagogical aspects of teaching online as well as how to use and incorporate many of the tools available in the myCourses Learning Management System used at UMD. The ultimate goal of the training is to have you begin planning, organizing and building the course you eventually plan to teach. In addition, this training will introduce you to tools that will teach you how to self-assess course site design to ensure student ease of access to course content and to facilitate more streamlined student learning and retention. Please note: This training is offered entirely online and will be conducted over a four week time frame.
