Excel Charts

- Description: This workshop provides a thorough exploration of charting with Excel. Participants create pie, line, stacked column, stock and scatter charts, and learn the proper uses of each. Custom axis formatting and trendlines are also covered. Previous Excel experience is required.

Introduction to Filemaker Pro
- Location: Claire T. Carney Library, Room 226

- Description: This workshop provides an introduction to Filemaker Pro. Participants create a database, define fields, and create basic layouts, including labels. Filemaker’s data entry, find and sort features are covered in detail. Importing and exporting data, and creation of value lists are also introduced. No previous Filemaker Pro experience is needed.

Introduction to InDesign Part 1

- Description: InDesign is a sophisticated page layout and graphic design tool geared toward print publication. The first workshop in the three part series covers the basics of Adobe InDesign, and is intended for users with little or no InDesign experience. Topics covered include working with the toolbox, palettes and document window, as well as setting up pages, guides and grids.

Customer Service in Higher Ed

- Description: Higher education institutions are dealing with decreased revenues and searching for ways to do more with less. More and more emphasis is placed on enrollment management (recruitment, retention, and progression), recognizing how critical this revenue source is for the long term sustainability of the university. With the goal of increasing revenues by attracting and retaining students, the university’s customers, the university would benefit from meeting or exceeding the needs of their customers. But what does customer service look like in higher ed? In this session you will learn more about customer service principles that should be leveraged in a higher ed setting.
