  • Creating Forms with Adobe Acrobat
  • Location: Claire T. Carney Library , 285 Old Westport Road, Dartmouth, MA

  • Description: This workshop provides an introduction to Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat is used to create, edit and manage Portable Document Format (PDF) files. PDF files can be set up as interactive forms for distribution and data collection. Participants learn to work with Acrobat’s toolbars, navigate, edit and annotate PDF documents, manage bookmarks, and set document security via passwords. Also covered are Acrobat’s form features, from form creation through distribution and compiling responses. No previous Acrobat experience is required.   • Description: InDesign is a sophisticated page layout and graphic design tool geared toward print publication. The first workshop in the three part series covers the basics of Adobe InDesign, and is intended for users with little or no InDesign experience. Topics covered include working with the toolbox, palettes and document window, as well as setting up pages, guides and grids.   • Using Blackboard Collaborate

  • Description: This workshop will demonstrate Collaborate, a live conferencing tool that uses a virtual online classroom to meet live within a myCourses course site. Using Collaborate, faculty can interact virtually with students for lectures, guest presentations, share applications, and meetings. This technology integrates seamlessly into your myCourses site and simply requires speakers and microphone.

Hands-on practice with Excel allows participants to learn the skills needed to set up a spreadsheet, make keyboard entries, and perform calculations. Participants learn to produce worksheets such as budgets and payrolls. Formatting, using formulas and simple functions are introduced. No previous Excel experience is needed.
