Description: Physics Master of Science Research Presentation by
Erik McGrath
Date: Friday, December 8, 2017
Time: 9am
Location: Textiles Room 105 - CSCVR
Topic: A Method to Verify the Relativistic Transformation of Temperature in Low Earth Orbit
Abstract:
A proposed experiment using two counter orbiting satellites in an orbital path orthogonal to the International Space Station and of similar altitude. Using readily available equipment and common data collection methods each lab will measure its own relative, finite temperature and that of the other labs as they pass each other within the shadow of the earth.
ADVISOR: Dr. Jong-Ping Hsu, Department of Physics
(jhsu @umassd.edu, 508.999.8363)
NOTE: All PHY Graduate Students are ENCOURAGED to attend.
Open to the public. All interested parties are invited to attend.
