Writing competitive grants is a skill that is different from writing academic papers. In spite of its importance for faculty success, it is not a skill that is universally taught in graduate school or post-doctoral training. In this presentation, we will discuss the key elements that make a grant proposal succeed. Part of the success is making good use of the Office of Research and Innovation. The session will provide an overview of the research development support and services now available through ORI.
