The UMass Dartmouth College of Visual and Performing Arts is pleased to announce Launching: Art + Design Foundations Exhibition which features student work from all four CVPA foundations courses including drawing, two- and three-dimensional design, and digital essentials. A closing reception is planned for Monday, September 23, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm at the gallery on the 1st floor of the CVPA building at 285 Old Westport Road in Dartmouth, MA 02747. Visitor parking is available in lots 5, 14 and 18.
Launching invites viewers to explore fundamental concepts of art and design in the context of works created independently and collaboratively in different media and disciplines. The exhibition presents a wide range of artworks and drawings that study perception, imagination and stop motion animation, time-based works that examine narrative and pacing, as well as plaster sculptures that explore the human body and otherworldliness. A selection of student papers and projects from the Art History survey are also included.
