Abstract:
This will be a summary of nutrient driven impairments of Biscayne Bay and initial monitoring results from one of the major discharges of fresh/brackish water to the western boundary of the central Biscayne Bay basin. This initial baseline effort was the foundation of much more detailed nutrient assessment effort currently underway (which we helped launch in collaboration with NOAA/ Miami Water Keeper and scientists from Florida International University) in support of the City of Coral Gables, FL and the recently sunset'ed Biscayne Bay Task Force.
