Abstract:
The shift from conducting research to advocating for certain management outcomes can feel like a major leap for fisheries scientists. But bringing science to bear in policy discussions is critical for ensuring the long-term health of marine fisheries and coastal communities. Join Willy Goldsmith of the American Saltwater Guides Association, which advocates on behalf of recreational fishing guides, small businesses, and conservation-minded recreational anglers, as he shares his own experience making the transition into the policy arena while describing ASGA’s mission and priorities.
