Professional Writing

Description: Writing abilities are among the most important skills for any and all roles, whether it you’re a senior manager, supervisor or administrative assistant. Yet the rules of good writing are often elusive. This workshop covers some of the critical areas you should keep in mind when writing anything from a lengthy report to a memo, letter, or e-mail. Participants will:
• Commonly confused words (then/than, effect/affect, etc)
• Common punctuation errors (proper use of a semicolon: in a series or with a conjunctive adverb)
• Common basic typographical errors (one space after a period; hyphens, the use of dashes)
• Professional email etiquette: appropriate sizes and colors for fonts as well as how to emphasize your point
• Memos- cover memos and other executive summaries/status update writing briefs
