Description: This in-person course teaches you how to safely work in the laboratory with biological agents in accordance with the Center for Disease Controls best practices titled "Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories (BMBL)". You will learn:
- Regulatory Oversight
- Biosafety and Chemical Hygiene Manuals
- Biosafety Levels
- Biosafety Level 1
- Biosafety Level 2
- Biohazardous Waste
- Emergency Response
This is mandatory training for faculty, staff and students who will be handling or come into contact with biological agents characterized as BSL-2 or greater in the laboratory.
