  • Description: DESCRIPTION: With pre-registration for Fall 2019 nearly upon us, join Monica Faria (STAR Center) Rachel Roy (Career Development), and Eric Casero (English) for a workshop on effective and engaged student advising. This interactive workshop will discuss strategies for holistic student advising, introduce TypeFocus, an advising and career development tool, and explore academic and financial issues that arise in COIN all as a way of promoting student success in coursework and progress toward graduation.   • Description: Online Teaching and Learning Strategies is a fully online four-week course that introduces faculty to the current research and best practices for online teaching and learning. Faculty will work independently, collaboratively with peers from various disciplines across campus, and with Instructional Designers to design and build one unit of online instruction in a myCourses site. Any faculty interested in learning more about teaching online is encouraged to participate in the course!
