After forty-five years of editing and writing for the new Bedford Standard-Times, Susan Pawlak Seaman posted her final column "Live and Learn" on May 3, 2020. Her own story began at Apponequet HS where she posted articles about learning through a student's eyes. Eagerly working in the
paper's Middleboro bureau, Susan fell in love with journalism there, charting a new course as an English Major at Stonehill College, graduating 1974. She earned journalistic kudos for her steady, sensitive reportage in Middleboro through the seventies. After a tour of duty for the Standard-Times in Fairhaven, she at last emerged as an editor/columnist, married to the multitalented Standard-Times photographer Hank Seaman in October of '78. Their life together, along with extraordinary personal stories about life in the city of Melville and Douglass became a precious narrative for readers of the Standard-Times, and for WCVB-TV, The Brockton Enterprise, Taunton Daily Gazette, Fall River Herald News , and the FireRescue1.com digital network.
