Contemplative Practices and Pedagogy Faculty Learning Community

When: Thursday, October 19, 2023
11:30 AM - 12:45 PM
Where: Claire T. Carney Library, Office of Faculty Development
Description: Can we encourage more creativity in our classrooms and if so, how? We will discuss recent research on fostering creativity in higher education using play, gamification, and interdisciplinary collaboration that can help students (and ourselves) bring more creativity into our classrooms and into our work. We hope you will join us!

Background: This FLC, started last year, focuses broadly on ways to incorporate contemplative practices into the classroom. These practices can be as simple as reflective journaling or deep reading. The community supports and encourages colleagues who want to incorporate these practices into their classrooms. Each session is a stand-alone event, and all are welcome to join us for any or all sessions. Participants need no prior experience and --bonus--no advance reading or prep required!
Topical Areas: Faculty, Faculty Development
