- Description: Workshop: Teaching Innovation across the Disciplines
Wednesday, May 18, 2022

LIB 213
Teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic required us to rethink many of our teaching and learning strategies, often at rapid speed. Some of these innovations worked, others perhaps did not. In this workshop, we'll explore some of these innovations in pedagogy, course design, modality, and assessment. Drawing on some recent work in the scholarship of teaching and learning and guided by examples of teaching innovation from UMassD faculty, we'll look at some ways to rethink and refresh our approaches to everything from designing interactive lectures (both in the classroom and online), creating engaging active learning activities, writing clear and accessible learning outcomes, and exploring different kinds of assessment strategies ranging from small-stakes activities to higher-stakes exams and projects.
To register, please email Ellen Mandly at emandly@umassd.edu and declare your modality preference (in person or virtual). Lunch will be served for all in-person participants.
